My name is Gemma Gené, I was born in Barcelona where I grew up drawing everything that went through my mind. In 2012 I started the cartoon 157 of gemma as a way to escape from my undergrad final thesis project. I started publishing the doodles I would do during class since I was a kid in a blog (I know, great student much?). In 2013 I moved to New York where I work as an architect and visual artist. When I moved to NY I stopped drawing this cartoon, it wasn't until 2014 that I started drawing about my pug Mochi in the subway on my way to and back from work and posted the cartoons on social media.

The other day I went out to dinner with my friends, It had been raining all day so I paid extra attention to fixing my hair, it took me a real while. So when I went out, it wasn’t raining anymore but my hair started frizzing like there was no tomorrow…thank you…the curse of the curly hair.

El otro día fui a cenar con mis amigas, había estado lloviendo todo el día así que me dediqué especialmente a mi pelo, y me costó lo suyo. Finalmente salí cuando ya no llovía, aun así my pelo se empezó a crespar cosa mala…gracias…lo malo de tener el pelo rizado.

After a whole life of drawing everywhere, a nightmare of a college experience, and facing some seriously boring work, I decided to publish my drawings in this blog.
My name is Gemma Gené, I’m a twenty something (a lady never tells her age) architecture grad, I just finished college, just married and I still don’t know what do I want to be when I grow up…I’m sure this blog is not going to help me with this subject, but I expect to be constant, or at least have fun with it!

Después de una vida de dibujar en todas partes, una pesadilla de carrera, y ante la idea de trabajar en un sitio horriblemente aburrido, he decidido publicar mis dibujos en este blog.
Me llamo Gemma Gené, soy una arquitecta recién licenciada de veintipico (una señorita nunca dice su edad), acabo de acabar la carrera, me acabo de casar y aún no sé que quiero ser de mayor…Estoy segura que este blog no me va ayudar en este aspecto, pero espero ser constante o al menos pasarlo bien!
